SPECIFY FOR THE LONG RUN

New forklifts in Canada

Buying new is an opportunity to specify the truck around your actual operation. Build the specification from your loads, routes, shifts and available infrastructure before choosing options.

Define the configuration first

Confirm rated capacity for your actual load centre and lift height, including any attachment. Compare collapsed mast height, free lift, overhead-guard clearance and aisle requirements with measured site dimensions. Obtain the manufacturer’s configuration data for the exact proposed truck.

Make the support questions specific

Ask who handles commissioning, maintenance, parts and warranty claims in your area. Request the written warranty terms and exclusions, planned maintenance requirements and the expected delivery schedule. Do not assume every brand or model has the same local support.

Plan the handover

A new machine still needs a suitable workplace, correct charging or fuelling arrangements, inspection procedures and competent operators. Agree who is responsible for transport, unloading, setup and any site-specific familiarization before delivery.
