THE WHOLESALE FORKLIFT FIELD GUIDE
Prepare your site for forklift delivery
Make the last leg part of the purchase plan.
Confirm the location and access
Give the complete delivery address, contact person, receiving hours and access restrictions. Describe gates, turning areas, overhead constraints and the surface where unloading is proposed. Tell the carrier about site induction or booking requirements.
Agree on unloading
A forklift is a heavy load and may need specialized transport and unloading. Agree who provides the equipment and competent personnel. Do not assume a tail lift, loading dock or another truck is suitable without confirming ratings and the carrier’s plan.
Receive and document
Arrange an authorized person to check identity, included equipment and visible condition against the agreed documents. Record any issues through the seller’s and carrier’s procedures. Clarify risk and acceptance terms before delivery.
Prepare for use
Have the required site assessment, inspections, charging or fuel facilities and operator arrangements ready. Delivery alone does not mean the machine is ready or authorized for your workplace’s tasks.
Keep building your brief.
